Snow Height Sensors

REMOTE MONITORING SOLUTIONS

Remote Monitoring of Snow Height

Snow Hight Sensors are part of the INTERNET OF BIOSPHERE product suite of remote monitoring solutions. Our wireless sensor modules are self-powered and energy-autarkic. All nodes of the wireless sensing network integrate seamlessly, providing maximum scaleability and flexibility while reducing cost of ownership.

Remote monitoring of snow hights in real-time

Ecosoph is presenting the first snow height sensor on the market, which is equipped with both an infrared and an ultrasonic sensor. Redundant measuring technology ensures more accurate results. The software of both sensors is configured such that different modes are set based on the distance from the snow height sensor to the ground. The sensor measures snow hight up to 8m. Additional settings such as the sending interval and the sending power can be configured using a DIP switch. For the transmission technology, either GSM (=Global System of Mobile Communication) or NB-IoT (=Narrow Band IoT) via a SIM-Card and the net of a mobile provider such as Telekom or Vodafone can be used or LoRaWAN. LoRaWAN operates in the unlicenced ISM (=Industrial Scientific Medical) band at 868MHz and requires no SIM-Card.

CONNECTIVITY OPTIONS

To connect the IoB sensor modules to the cloud, our platform currently works with NB-IOT, LoRa Wan and Bluetooth. Sensor modules can be individually configured according to your use case.

NB-IOT: Data transmission via commercial telecom carrier, requires a SIM card contract. We con provide modules with or without SIM cards.

LORA-WAN: Transmission standard for regional networks, allows for wireless connection of sensor modules up to several kilometres around the gateway.

Bluetooth: Wireless standard for local data connectivity in a limited range below 100m only.
